It's been over two months since I've written here. Roughly a month after my last post, when I would be considering what to write about here, my mom went into the hospital. About a month after that, we were at her funeral.
It's been a shit year.
I forgot all about this stupid blog, which is an exercise in extreme vanity. Remembering it was a new regret, a new guilt I can't feel right now.
Here’s a word. Bereavement. Or, Bereaved. Bereft. It’s from the Old English bereafian, meaning ‘to deprive of, take away, seize, rob’. Robbed. Seized. It happens to everyone. But you feel it alone. Shocking loss isn’t to be shared, no matter how hard you try.
